Zakynthos town harbour has a ferry line connecting to the port of Kyllini on the mainland. A short journey across the Peloponnese brings one to the ancient city of Olympia, and then on to Athens.
Another ferry line connects the village of Agios Nikolaos (Zakynthos) to Argostoli on Kefalonia so one can island hop and be back at your villa by night time.
Zakynthos referred to as the flower of the East, a name from the Venetian occupation they called it “Fioro di Levant as there are over 7,000 species of flora- breathtaking!Zakynthians are a happy positive people with huge appreciation for culture and the arts and take great pride in hospitality and their heritage.
Music flows through the people of Zakynthos, during the Venetian occupation, the art of serenades was created and they are called "Kantinades" which you will enjoy in many local taverns.
Agriculture and farming is still a huge part of life we are proud of our local, products are olive oil, currants, grapes and citrus fruit. The Zante currant is unique to the island make sure to take some home with you!
